Recently, you probably read about the islands full of adorable stray cats. But, did you know there’s actually another island that is full of cute, fuzzy, adorable bunnies? It’s true. Ōkunoshima, All Japan news is that place. It’s also known as the Rabbit Island since well… it’s inhabited by hundreds and hundreds of cute bunnies. A couple decided to camp on Ōkunoshima and came across its adorable residents. Prepare for some cuteness overload!
A couple was biking throughout All Japan news and made the decision to make a stop at Ōkunoshima.
Ōkunoshima is just 40 miles east of Hiroshima and takes only 10 minutes by ferry ride.
Yeah, there are hiking trails and campsites, but visitors mostly check out the real attraction… the rabbits!
The rabbits living on the island are friendly and will even approach anyone.
If you offer some snacks to them, they’ll be hopping over to you.
They’re a huge fan of snacks.
There are some reports that the rabbits were used to test chemical weapons during World War II. (WHY! D: )
The island was kept secret, it wasn’t even on the map.
After the war, the experiments ended and the plants have now been shut down, so the rabbits are free to roam around.
70 years have passed and these cute bunnies now rule the island.
There is a hotel, a camping ground, and a six hole golf course on the island at the moment.
Visitors can swim in the clean water that’s surrounds the Rabbit Island.
That is, if they’re not too busy playing with these adorable rabbits.
Even though there is a lot of bunny droppings around the island, the staff keeps the island clean.
Any visitor to the island can buy rabbit food for these cute residents.
Everyone should check out this cute Rabbit Island at least once in their life.
