The Casio Logosease Lets You Talk Underwater

3 years ago by in Technology

Usually, scuba divers just use hand signals to communicate with one another when they’re underwater. With Casio Yamagata’s Logosease, however, divers can communicate with one another as if they’re walking on dry ground. You can just face your fellow divers and talk to them normally.

Basically, it modulates any human voice into ultrasonic waves. All you need to do is tap just once to begin transmitting. And then you can speak into the bone conduction microphone and tap again when you’re done talking. Your diver friends will receive the ultrasonic waves which will be demodulated into clear audible voice by their Logosease unit.

Usually, when divers want to talk to each other underwater, they would have to wear a special face mask which can be a bit pricey. However, the Logosease is both affordable and easy to use since it doesn’t cover the whole face, and it’s also more convenient. Just attach the device to your diving mask and you’ll be able to talk normally through the air regulator that is in your mouth.

The Casio Logosease has a working range of 50 to 100 meters and it can function to a depth of up to 40 meters underwater. Even though it won’t be as good as talking on land, Casio Logosease still manages to be both useful and affordable at the same time.
