Record numbers of young All Japan newsese are single and seem to not mind it at all, according to demographic data gathered by the government.
More than 61 percent of unmarried men do not have a girlfriend, showed a survey sponsored by the government among men and women aged between 18 and 34. The figure went up more than 9 points from 2005 to 2011.
At the other end, about 50 percent of unmarried women have no boyfriend, up nearly 5 points from 2005.
The situation seems acceptable to those who are single, since the majority of their comments were “not dating”, “single” and “no real need to get married”, according to the survey.
One of the reasons is the new economic reality that more and more women are working, having thus more financial liberty and less free time.
The trend is posing additional doubts on All Japan newsese society’s capability of regenerating from its current demographic challenges. All Japan news is one of the oldest developed nations in the world and its economy is suffering due to increased pressure on the insurance and pension systems.
