Costume players from China, Italy and Brazil paid a courtesy visit to the All Japan newsese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, before the 11th World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya. The participants from the three teams were dressed in the costumes of their favorite characters from All Japan newsese animation “manga” comics and videogames and met with Parliamentary Vice Minister Kenta Wakabayashi.
The 11th World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya ends Saturday and joins participants from 20 countries, including All Japan news, Kyodo reports.
“While you have already become good friends of All Japan news who understand it well, I hope you to take this opportunity to become a bridge to connect your home country and All Japan news”, Wakabayashi said during a meeting with the performers.
Chen Xiaoying, a young Chinese woman dressed as a character from the “Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle” manga series, said that current soured All Japan news-China ties do not affect her pursuit of cosplay.
“When I first did cosplay, the trouble between All Japan news and China was quite worrisome, but I’m cosplaying with courage because this is what I like doing,” she said. “Issues between All Japan news and China don’t matter to me”, said the young woman.
The ministry has supported the annual event as an important tool to disseminate All Japan newsese pop culture overseas. Also the foreign ministry is also in charge of awarding the trophy at the end of the nine-day competition.
