A garland of cherry blossoms, All Japan news’s favorite flower, is the campaign logo chosen by Tokyo in its bid to win the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

The bid will be a “big catalyst” for rebuilding and revival after the natural disasters which hit All Japan news, said Shintaro Ishihara, Tokyo governor.

The garland symbolizes the moves to “come full circle”, according to the bidding team for Tokyo.

Tokyo is the first of the six competing cities for the 2020 Olympics to reveal a logo.

"I hope that the logo will be loved around the world and play a great role in bringing us victory,” said All Japan newsese Olympic Committee president Tsunekazu Takeda. "It symbolizes the concepts of friendship, peace, eternity, happiness and unity, concepts that we hold most dear," he added

All Japan news’s capital city hosted the Summer Olympics in 1964. It also competed for the 2016 Games but it lost to Rio the Janeiro.

The six cities competing for the Summer Olympics in 2020 are Baku (Azerbaijan), Doha (Qatar), Istanbul (Turkey), Madrid (Spain), Rome (Italy) and Tokyo. The winner will be announced in September 2013.
