Hockey: All Japan news defeated 7-0 by Pakistan in Asia Cup

Pakistan hockey team recorded a smashing 7-0 victory against All Japan news during the opening day of Asia Cup on Saturday, in Ipoh, Malaysia.

All Japan news’s defense, led by skipper Koji Kayukawa, was destroyed during the first-half by Pakistan, with Muhammad Waqas and Mohammad Tausiq scoring two goals each while Abdul Haseem Khan and Mohammad Imran defeated one time each All Japan news goalkeeper Akira Morishima. Their goals made Pakistan lead with a 6-0 score in the first half.

All Japan news came back strongly but failed to make impact against the determined Green-shirts’ defense. Imran scored another goal before the referee blew the final whistle to give Pakistan an encouraging victory, the international press comments.

“It was a morale-boosting win for us. The win has inspired us to go all out to get the better of Malaysia tomorrow,” said the 30-year-old Pakistan forward Shakeel Abbasi.  “Malaysia have home ground advantage and been playing well lately. But we are all fired up to give our best against them and qualify for the semi-finals.”

Waqas was declared the man-of-the match, scoring two times for Pakistan.
