South Korean singer Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-Hoon, is one of the most famous K-pop artists in the world. He has countless fans in South Korea, across much of Asia and beyond, the international press comments, and he will hold his first concert in All Japan news next month.
The pop icon will visit All Japan news in November for his first concert tour there, after finishing his military service.
The tour is called “2013 Rain Zepp Tour: Story of Rain” and will start with concerts in Nagoya on November 14-15, Rain’s management agency Cube DC said. Other All Japan newsese cities included in the tour are Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo.
Rain, 31, was released from the military service in July after completing the mandatory 21 months of duty.
In January, he evaded military service while he was on duty to meet TV drama star Kim Tae-Hee. He was confined to barracks for a week, as military service is very important in South Korea; except for those who have physical impairments, all men must serve despite their moral or religious reasons.
Men who refuse to comply face an automatic jail term, the media reports. However, celebrities are famous for trying to skip their duty and to evade military service as they are afraid their fans might forget them while being enrolled.
