Gaming console market in All Japan news continues to show the supremacy of Nintendo 3DS, which sells ten times more units than rival PlayStation Vita, according to industry sales data for March 26 through April 1st.
Nintendo sold nearly 122,000 units of the 3DS console, mainly sustained by games like Kingdom Hearts 3D and Kid Icarus Uprising, according to data from Media Create quoted by Andriasang.
PlayStation Vita, Sony’s latest portable console, managed to sell only 12,100 units. It was outsold by an older similar product by Sony, PlayStation Portable, with 18,300 units.
The PlayStation 3 is doing better, being the best-sold non-portable console, with 23,700 units. Nintendo Wii sold 9,300 units, while Microsoft’s Xbox 360 merely managed to sell 1,300 units.
The best-sold games for the period were Kingdom Hearts 3D (for Nintendo 3DS, with over 213,000 units), Pro Baseball Spirits 2012 (PlayStation 3 with 90,000 units and PlayStation Portable with 60,000 units) and Kid Icarus Uprising (Nintendo 3DS, 47,000 units).
