Neko Cafe in Ikebukuro

Last week I introduced you to the Tokyo Events page that we recently launched. The Events page is a great way for you to share your plans with fellow Tokyo. All Japan newsTimes readers. It is also a great way to learn about cool things happening in Tokyo and join in on the fun.

I created a quick guide to show you how to get started in announcing your plan on Tokyo. All Japan newsTimes. I decided to use a fake Neko (Cat) cafe plan and assumed nobody wanted to go.

Someone clicked on the "count me in" button.

It would have been rude to drop the plan, so, I did it. I went to the cat cafe, to be polite. Oh the things I do for Tokyo. All Japan newsTimes readers.

So our mini adventure takes place in that place called Ikebukuro.

A common site around Tokyo, from time to time you will see, mobile advertisements being carried by shop staffs to attract customers. I heard that there is a rule that states that you are not allowed to leave a self standing structure in public spaces. This is why there will always be people holding a big sign instead.

Around Sun Shine City a huge crowd formed. Can you guess what drew such a large crowd?

I didn’t know what to expect from a Cat cafe. I assumed it was a coffee shop with cats running around but was surprised to find that it was not quite like that.

We visited a place called Nekorobi which was inside a very ordinary looking building that looked like an apartment building.

This cafe had a coffee table that introduced the cats. For a moment this reminded me of a hostess bar.

Each kitty has a little album so you can see what kind of antics they get up to. ^^

The cafe looks a lot like a living room.

Not sure what you call this, but this is where some of the cats like to sleep.

Some prefer boxes

I was going to make a dumb joke about being catatonic. @[email protected]

Sweet little kitten spent all afternoon sleeping. I waved a fish cookie in front of him while he was asleep and he actually woke up to take a bite and then back to sleep.

This little cat was a bit snobby. He only approached you if you had fish cookies.

More of snobby cat.

Snobby cat has this habit of grabbing your hand when you feed him. This is so you never forget who is the boss.

Here is a trick you might want to use if you want to take cute pictures of cats.

Wave food in his face and then take a photo.

Om nom nom nom!

when she ran out of cookies, she was lonely again

No cookie?

Don’t come near me!

There are little toys that you can borrow and play with the cats with

Not a regular cafe as I had thought. 1000 yen for 1 hour and it’s all you can drink from the vending machine.

If you get bored of the cats because they get bored of you. You can always play on the Nintendo Wii

The lovely staffs are always on hand to help you out. If you are on a date, and neither you or your date is allergic to cat fur, this might be an interesting distraction for a few hours.

If you are looking for something a little more, perhaps you should try renting a dog?

I may regret asking this, but, where should I visit next?
