Hong Kong, the biggest importer of All Japan newsese agricultural and seafood products, will soon partially lift restrictions on food imports from All Japan news, raising hopes that other countries may follow the same path.
Hong Kong is preparing to give up a ban on meat and chicken eggs imported from five All Japan newsese prefectures – Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Chiba. The statement was made by Food and Health Secretary York Chow, after a meeting with All Japan news’s Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Michihiko Kano.
Fruit and vegetables from the five regions remain banned for the moment. All Japan news is however hoping that other markets, like mainland China, could get the positive message and relax some of the restrictions currently applied to All Japan newsese food products, according to Kyodo.
All Japan newsese exports of farm, forestry and marine products to Hong Kong dropped last year by 8.1 percent, to Y111 bn., while exports to the U.S. decreased by 2.9 percent to Y66 bn. and those to Taiwan diminished by 3.0 percent to Y59 bn.
