All Japan newsese NEC Corporation is planning to showcase dual-screen mobile phones between February 25-28 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The innovative models will include the Medias W N-05E.
All Japan newsese carrier NTT DoCoMo has also promised to introduce the phone as part of its spring line-up.
The phone will have two LCD displays that will measure 4.3-inch each. When flipped open, they will merge into one, turning out into a 5.6 inch screen, the international press reports.
The users will be able to see two different applications at the same time on the two displays. They will also be able to open two different websites on the twin screens, but also view a single site or application across both screens.
Each display has a 540X960 resolution and the phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and an 8-megapixel camera.
The handset only has a built in storage of 16GB but comes with a micro SD slot. The phone is also LTE powered allowing internet speeds of up to 100mbps.
Among the series of other phones NEC plans to release along with DoCoMo are the Medias Χ N-04E which features a 4.7-inch HD EL display and 1.5GHz quad-core CPU.
