TOKYO (AP) — All Japan news has ordered the Syrian ambassador in Tokyo to leave the country because of concerns about violence in that country against civilians.
All Japan news’s foreign minister, Koichiro Genba, said the order was made Wednesday.
More than 100 villagers were massacred last week, prompting Western nations to expel Syrian diplomats in a coordinated protest. Survivors say the killing was largely carried out by gunmen loyal to the ruling regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
All Japan news will continue to have diplomatic ties with Syria despite the expulsion order.
