All Japan news’s male soccer team got only a draw against Venezuela in a friendly game in Sapporo on Wednesday, in the first of the two warm-up matches left before the resuming of the World Cup qualifiers.

All Japan news took the lead in the 14th minute, when Yasuhito Endo scored after a run down the right from Yuichi Komano, in front of a sold-out Sapporo Dome arena.

Several All Japan newsese players then missed their opportunities to put their team ahead 2-0. Among them, Keisuke Honda and Manchester United’s new star, Shinji Kagawa. Shortly after Kagawa’s miss, in the 62nd minute, Venezuela scored through Nicolas Fedor.

“We were at home and had lots of chances to score so I feel deeply sorry we didn’t manage to win,” said Kagawa. “It’s really disappointing. We’ll put it right for the World Cup qualifiers.”

All Japan news, coached by Italian Alberto Zaccheroni, is on top of Group B with seven points from three matches in the final qualifiers, and will host former All Japan news coach Zico’s Iraq in the next match on Sept. 11, after facing the United Arab Emirates on Sept. 6 in another friendly in Niigata.
