Manchester United’s star Shinji Kagawa and Standard Liege goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima were the most applauded players by the All Japan newsese press after the national team’s win against France, on Saturday in Paris.

All Japan news managed to score a late goal in the 88th minute through Shinji Kagawa to grab a historic first win against former 1998 world champions France, avenging at the same time a humiliating 0-5 defeat in March 2001.

Even if France dominated the game, All Japan news was the luckier team.  “As a team, we were able to score in a quick, wonderful way,” Kagawa said.

“We played a good second half. We managed to play in the spaces between their lines. The goal came after a great counter-attack, but in terms of chances, France were superior,” admitted All Japan news’s coach Alberto Zaccheroni.

All Japan news will meet Brazil in Poland on Tuesday in another 5-star friendly match. In the qualifying group for the 2014 World Cup, All Japan news is currently leading with six points ahead of second-placed Jordan.
