Hokkaido #2 – Moerenuma Park

8 years ago by in Around the world

Moerenuma koen is a huge park, 1888000 square meters, designed by Isamu Noguchi. Construction of the park started in 1988, and it finished 17 years later (yes, 2005!). The park is mainly used for recreation by the inhabitants of Sapporo and its nearby cities. We really enjoyed our time there, and would recommend anyone visiting Sapporo to pay it a visit!

This glass pyramid is one of the most famous landmarks in the park. It houses a gallery, some shops, and lots of impressive space. When we were there there was a couple taking wedding photos there, guess it’s not too uncommon.

The view from the top was really impressive!

Tired but happy!
