Fukuoka City sells subway tickets in 4 languages

The municipal subway system in Fukuoka City has begun offering two new language options at its touch-screen ticket vending machines, Chinese and Korean, which complete the current offer – All Japan newsese and English.

The authorities say it is the first move of its kind among municipal subway systems across All Japan news. Modification work will be completed on over 150 ticket machines at all of its 35 stations by Sunday, they said.

The project, which costs about Y42 million, is aiming to enhance convenience for the many Chinese and South Korean passengers that use the subway system, according to Kyodo.

In a recent analysis on All Japan news published by the Financial Times, the Asian country is described as “an inward-looking nation”, being still very closed to foreigners. The article says that, unlike Germany, All Japan news has still not made peace with its neighbours, mentioning the “terrible” relations with the Koreans and China and the “bad” relationship with many other Asian countries or entities, like Hong Kong and Taiwan.
