All Japan newsese flat panel TV screen makers are going through a tough period, with sales dropping sharply, mainly due to a lack of internal demand.
The industry dropped by 70 percent in the first half of the year, when 3.5 million flat screen TVs were shipped in All Japan news, according to data published by the All Japan news Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA).
In general, all types of TVs decreased with about the same pace – around 70 percent. This includes 29-inch and below TVs, 30-36 inch and 37-inch and above, as well as 3D screens.
The drop was even sharper in June, when it reached 80.3 percent and only 557,000 units were shipped in All Japan news. June was the eleventh consecutive month when the market decreased.
All Japan newsese consumers have recently bought new TVs and time has not yet come for a renewal, analysts say. This is forcing All Japan newsese makers to switch their focus towards emerging markets, as the domestic market is now expected to continue on the same track, with an overall negative view for growth.
