The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) is preparing a report on key findings concerning two nuclear reactors that had been tested lately.

The report, which will be reviewed on Wednesday, refers to two reactors of Kansai Electric Power Co.

“We’re organizing data and findings from the past discussions of stress test reports, aiming to discuss mainly the No.3 and No.4 Ohi reactors on January 18,” a NISA official said.

If the two reactors in All Japan news’s western industrial heartland, would get a go-ahead from the authorities, it would be an important step in the efforts to restore trust in All Japan news’s nuclear industry since an earthquake and tsunami sparked a crisis at Fukushima last March.

Other reactors are waiting in line to have their stress tests’ results reviewed by NISA. Among them there are two units of Hokkaido Electric Power and one of Shikoku Electric Power.

Only five of All Japan news’s 54 reactors currently remain online, requiring big industrial energy consumers to use other power sources, like fossil fuels.
